35 Eric Richards from Auckland NZ: Dave from The ghetto of Woburn (#15 in the list) the theme tune to Van Der Valk is "Eye Level" form Simon Park Orchestra, I had his LP but can not get a CD replacement.
I Would like to get the DVD but can only get region 2 from Amazon UK, I just can not work out why programs like this can not go all zone, TV will never play these good old programs and it was seen in NZ in the good old days when there was no pay was around.

28 Cormac from Toronto: I googled VdV not expecting to find anything. Pleasantly surprised to find others who recall it . Like the other contributors it brings back such happy memories of watching the show with family in Ireland. Have had that music in my head for 25 years + ...dont recall much about the show, but that music....indelible.

25 Graham Pearson from Northampton: Van Der Valk is one of the greatest detective shows ever made but dear Mr Foster and Mr Stock sadly no longer with us will be spoken about for many years.
24 Elton from South Wales: Best detective series ever awesome stories and locations would love to see the 1977 series as I have the seen the rest, great title music.
23 Laurie. from Swansea: I could never suss out what Doctor Who was up to not doing Time Lord stuff, battling evil cardboard cut outs and dodgy aliens from the planet Zyrglxe. Why was he a policeman? Why Amsterdam and not some disused quarry in Surrey? It made no sense! Barry Foster? Who's he? I always thought it was Jon Pertwee!!!!!
22 tim from warwickshire: Great to see VdV back on TV, takes me back to my days at university!
Hoping to buy some of the DVDs - I particularly remember one episode when our hero was protecting a lady who had run off with some money or jewels from the "mob", I think she got killed in the end! Does anybody know what that particular episode was called so that I can see if it is available on DVD, Thanks.
21 Andreas from NYC: I saw the show on German TV, over 30 years ago. Van der Valt, my grand-mother, a little TV set on the wodden table, rainy Summer days...Come back Piet!
20 Pamela from Glasgow: I cannot wait 'til I see Piet again. You've just made me very, very happy! I'm especially looking forward to 'Enemy'.
19 Shaun Gutteridge from Reading: Without doubt the ultimate 70's detective series.
18 neil robinson from scunthorpe: my best episode of this series was an episode from series 2 called enermy when van der valk was receiving threatening letters from a family when he ran a girl down on a police chase.
17 Simon Ladd from Enfield, UK: I simply cannot stop humming the theme tune everytime I go to The Netherlands. In fact I start as soon as I see Eindhoven indicated on the road signs north of Brussels! Bom bom bom bom bome.......... Quite embarrassing when in company!
16 Leo Blyth from Broxbourne: Van Der Valk reminds me of when I was a child. I would watch it with my mum and dad, sitting on his knee. I think its time for a re run! although Im too heavy now to sit on his knee anymore!!
15 Dave from The ghetto of Woburn: I love the theme tune to Van Der Valk, it reminds me of christmas shopping.
14 Vilf Hewitt from Stevenage: It is great to see that in your country that this series is as popular as it schtill is back home in de Nederlands.
13 mr p r williams from st andrews. scotland: where vdv is investigating a fire in a garage naxt to a canal and decides to take one of the tractors for a spin
12 Steve Schindler from South Wales: Due to my working in Europe, I sadly missed the new series shown during the 1990's. I would love to know if it can be purchased and, why doesn't itv or itv2 re-run this brilliant series? It's a true classic due to its originality.
11 James Stewart from Edinburgh: This is a really origninal detective series. I would love to see the later series also.
10 mick from birmingham: Great to see VDV back. Please show the 1990s series!!
9 Claire Orridge from Auckland, New Zealand: I remember this from the 70's and then other screenings during the early 90's. Great police show, and of course fabulous Amsterdam as the backdrop. Any chance of bringing this to NZ in conjunction with UKTV on Sky here?
8 Brian Mc Tague from Dublin Ireland: hi,does anyone know if the last episodes from the 90's are for sale? I was so sad when MR Foster died.VDV was better than Morse but never got the credit it deserved. And Amsterdam is a wonderful city to visit.V.D.V.ROCKS!
7 Suzanne Cass from Tasmania: Although not yet connected to a TV network showing Van Der Valk, I have been able to buy some videos from the UK. "Back in those days", Barry Foster presented brilliantly in a show that, as others have said, was quite riveting. And SO ATTRACTIVE. I was really sad to hear of his passing, he must have been an enormously talented man.
6 Tony Popov from Australia: Personally I believe that Vandervalk is the best British Police show to be screened on Australian TV. The storylines were very clever and creditable
5 Frank Dobson from Chester-le-Street: A great programme and so many favourite episodes. A particular favourite moment was Van Der Valk in London.
4 Seamus Kennedy from Dublin, Ireland: Good to see Van der Valk on again - very different from the norm, and substantially more entertaining than what seems to pass for entertainment these days (Big Brother, Popstars etc). Why don't they make detective shows like this any more?
3 Keith Kirkham from Leeds: Van De Valk has without any doubt the best theme tune for a TV series of all time. It even beats the theme for The Professionals.
2 maggie from leeds: What I like. Beautiful Amsterdam. The good guys always win. And the beautiful Michael Latimer! Smooth or what! I wonder what happened to him?
1 David Plews from Birmingham: Fantastic to see the Dutch detective on again. An intelligent policeman who with a wife and family escapes the usual stereotype of single or divorced malle detectives.
