90 Debbie Curtis from London area: the Best tv series ever - loads of action and sexy !
I have the CI5 tattoo xxx
89 Elizabeth from Melbourne: Answer for Roger in Buckinghamshire re tombstone poem. It is called the Desiderata and was wrongly believed to have been discovered on a tombstone dated 1642 in Baltimore. It was actually written by a greeting card writer and produced as a commercial poster. It is very beautiful and you will probably find it for sale on ebay or such sites.
88 judith patterson from new zealand: i liked the professionals when they first came on screen, and the re-runs. i like thefriendship body and doyle have.
87 Roger Burrows from Buckinghamshire: Doyle had a poem from a tomb stone, part of it was ....for we are the stuff stars are made of.
what was the full poem?
been looking for years
86 billy kane from nottingham: the best british action/drama series, wish they would make a new series, with me as one of the stars.
85 Teresa from New Zealand: I Loved them all and and waiting on series 3 alearady have 1 2 and 4 no one else gets a look in when the professionals are on!!!
84 Patricia Smith from Portsmouth UK: I loved this series when it was first on and I am watching them all again on satelite t.v. Martin Shaw was and still is absolutely gorgeous and a great actor
83 Andrej from Slovakia, town Piešťany: Hallo I am big fan of this series. I would like to buy a t-shirt, can you tell me some adress. thank you
82 Andrej from Slovakia, town Piešťany: Hallo I am big fun of this series. thank you
81 Angela Clowes from Staffordshire: The Professionals was my absolute favourite show when I was a teenager during the 80's. Bodie was my favourite and my mum like Doyle because of 'all that curly hair!' I've recently bought the complete, uncut and digitally remastered set of The Professionals on DVD and am enjoying watching the episodes as much now as I did before. Worth every penny!
80 Geoff raymond scott from South Shields: As i am always being told by fellow workers, i am a spitting double of the famous bodie unfortunately like bodie i have lost my curls and the grecian 2000 is keeping the grey away, however i still enjoy wearing my 70s throw back shirts and jackets. Please bring the professionals back so that everyone can see the real thing.
79 Conny from Germany: The best crime/suspence series EVER on TV. Those guys just rock and Doyle is hotter than hell.
78 l.graham from canada: the best action/series on this of the atlantic l.g
77 Katie B from Brisbane, Australia: I'm so glad I found your site! I had no idea that there were so many other fans out there. It has been and still is - my favourite show since I was 14! Doyle is my favourite, but there is no disputing Bodie's obvious charms either. I loved the intro music, the witty banter, (between our two heros), the car chases, the romances, the story-lines, even the locations! I didn't get to see every episode, sadly, but I have the dvds on order - and I just can't wait to see the boys and the 'old man' back in action again. I wish we still had cable tv, but in Australia, they were only ever shown once (years ago) that I'm aware of. It truely was the best show on tv - ever. And for a lot of us it was a way of life too. How many programs/movies can claim that? Funny thing is a few years ago I was given a keycard to allow me access to a telecommunications expo. The code number was 3745! I still have it to this day. I try to watch everything I can with Martin Shaw in it, but unfortunately not much gets seen here. Watch "Cassidy" which was made with Martin and Caroline Goodall and Bill Hunter, in the 90's in Sydney, and Hong Kong. Just a mini series, but oh... he really was at his sexy best, and played a great villian with a heart.
76 Maria Teresa from Argentina: In my opinion, one of the best shows I've ever seen. The dialogs between Bodie and Doyle are among my favourite parts. And though both were good-looking, Bodie was totally sexy. Lewis Collins' portrayal of agent Bodie was so natural and sweet that I think that all the girls who saw him fell for him. In spite of the passing of time, I still get a kick out of watching the show.
75 Geraldine from Scotland: Why why why don't we have this on far more often!!! The Professionals - they don't make them like that anymore, loved this programme as a wee girl and am hooked all over again, Bodie..........what a man!!!!
74 Ruth from London: Just fantastic to find it on tv! When I was 11 i wanted to be Bodie, by the time I was 14, I'd have settled for marrying him! Classic stuff, great humour and great action! very sexy, real heroes.
73 Gloria from Italy: I recall watching The Professionals on telly back in the late 70's with my late father. The programme was fab and Lewis Collins was even more fabulous!! I have now obtained series 4 in dvd but waiting impatiently for my boyfriend to buy me series 1,2 and 3 for Christmas!!
Gordon Jackson was so convincing as the head of CI5 and his two faithful agents were just as good.It was a pity Lewis did not get the part as James Bond in the early 80's- I thought he would have made a great 007!!
Although the years have passed and so many other georgeous guys have come onto our screens, I still believe Lewis beats all of them-Move over Brad and George Clooney!!
72 don cheeseman from birkenhead: Always remember walking past lewis Collins family road in a place called Gautby Road and feeling proud to have met him and proud for his family. A tough lad from a loving family made the grade. Also a good drummer too!
71 Claudia from Argentina: I was totally in love with Body !!!, they are so sexy.. leather jacket, convertible and 70's hair ....
70 Debbie Hopkins from Norfolk: I just love the opening titles and the theme tune, was excellent. Not forgetting the car a Ford Capri and the Escort RS2000.
69 peter from yorkshire: fantastic!..the cars and the whole 70s atmosphere, before speed cameras took over the world!..ok im old enough to remember them from my teens but its still great viewing..please show them all..
68 harry marway from goodmayes,Ilford: hi its back on tv..its absolutely brilliant. M and M are showing the whole series and as i have commented before, its the best programme of the 70's/80's ever produced. thank you for bringing it back. bye for now.
67 steve from England: .....love it ! fantastic series fantastic cars too! TR7`S and Rover SD1`S the Capri`s and Escort RS2000`s
The new golden age of British Television
66 holly perham from reading: I LOVED THE BIT IN WHICH DOYLE AND BODIE WERE DRIVING THE CAPRI'S TOWARDS EACH OTHER AND THEN STOPPED, MISSED BY A INCH. LOVE THE SHOW AND I ALWAYS WILL LOVE THE PROFESSIONALS.
65 Rob from Wirral: What made this programme special was that it was a proper action series - TV critics who picked on the cheesy dialogue and the hammy acting missed the whole point of this show.
The car chases were electrifying, the fight scenes were graphic and well rehearsed and Messrs Shaw and Collins did their own stunts, adding a special and rare authenticity to the show.
From the moment the Rover crashes through the window and the Lawrie Johnson theme kicks in at the opening titles you knew that Bodie & Doyle were coming to kick ass. In reference to those titles, originally Gordon Jackson did some godawful introduction about CI5 over the music as Doyle did his Aikido and Bodie mercilessly laid into that punchbag. The producers dispensed with this intro as they realised that the music and the images were enough to get us in the mood.
As a footnote, I am keen to trace an episode called Klansmen, as this was deemed so controversial when originally broadcast that it has not been repeated since...
64 Chris Penfold-Ivany from London: It was a Great Drama I was only a Child when it first started so I was able to watch the reapets when i grew up.
63 Dave from Dumbarton,Scotland: Hey. The pros is brillaint with great banter and refreshingly un PC
62 harrymarway from goodmayes Ilford: hi sophisticated and brilliant. A good action series and havent missed a single episode since its return in august.
61 Carol from South Shields: I love the Professionals and i'm sure that there is more episodes of them than have been shown, please show some of the episodes that have been missed out.
PS keep up the good work on showing the pros, Bodie is sooo Gorgeous.
60 Sue Lawrence from Llanelli Carms: Hi; I love The Professionals. It was and still is British TV at its best. Lewis Collins and Martin Shaw are great. The storylines had everything, comedy, sad bits and plenty of car chases! I met Lewis Collins once. It was a dream come true!
59 Kari from New Zealand: I always wanted to be Ann Holly in "Involvement" - she was so sophisticated and Doyle looked sooooo gorgeous! I loved his longer curly hair.
58 justine from rugby: i was only little when the professionals were first on but i loved them then and still do. have got the the series on dvd and it is great to be able to watch "doyle" time and time again. excellent show and it is great that they r still being shown on sky.
57 becca from manchester: I love the episode Close Quaters any one else agree with me? Let me know....
56 harry marway from goodmayes Ilford: Hi. The programme is brilliant - from the introduction scenes right to the end. Gordon Martin and Lewis are exceptional stars and have made their mark with the viewers and provided good entertainment. I haven't missed a single episode.
55 mjchelle knight from birmingham england: One of my favorite scenes was from an episode when they are looking after Annie and they are in the car talking about Cowley. I think that they are both hunks, and my favourite, the Birmingham born Martin Shaw is a great actor and is now on TV as Judge John Deed
54 Di ane Brierley from Sevenoaks, Kent: I loved The Professionals, but loved The Cuckoo Waltz more I think! Lew is adorable & I met him a few times back in the 70's...anyone know what he's up to now. Does he have a fanclub or his own website?
53 Heather from New Zealand: Love the guys, got all the programes on tape, watch them heaps when the telly's rubbish. Own two Ford Capri's a good looking Mark 1 and a really good looking 2.8i Mark 3, it's a shame they don't make telly like this any more!
52 michael webb from Gateshead: I think all the episodes of The Professionals are great. Brian Clemens has a certain style that is distinctive on everything he does. I remember sitting down with my dad in 1977 watching the very first episode and being very impressed by the quality of the production. Any chance of seeing CI5-The New Professionals with Edward Woodward and Lexa Doig.
51 Jim Denson from York: This programme has ruled my two brothers and myselfs lifes since we first watched it.We have set up a professionals club here in york and have regular theme nights.People say i am the spitting image of George Cowley which as you can imagine drives the women wild..So if your ever in york and fancy popping along drop me a message here!!!
50 Joyce Vedder from Holland: I don't have one particular favorite. Cause i like most of them. Any thing with Bodie or Doyle in it is great cause i love their interaction they are so much fun.
And I would like to know how to get in touch with their Fan club if anyone knows how please contact me on my Email adress.
49 joh williams from london: keep up the good work
48 Mike from Salford, Greater Manchester: I'm 23 now (24 in a few weeks time) but I still watch this show whenever its on, love this programme, and I love Ford Capris. It's a shame the original show had to be axed in February 1983 and I were only three years old at the time :-(
47 Suzanne Cass from tasmania: This brings back memories ... the gorgeous Lewis Collins!
46 Mel from New Zealand: Have been hooked ever since seeing one episode (wild justice) a few years ago. have to agree with Sandra, Lewis Collins IS the most georgous man I've ever seen!
45 Audrey York from Birmingham.England.: I remember the professionals first being shown. I was hooked from the very first episode. I cannot think of Bodie without Doyle springing to mind and also the great boss Mr Cowley. These three stars were excellent together. I loved every single episode, each one full of action, however I really enjoyed the episode "Stakeout" The little quips from Bodie and Doyle in the bowling alley. But wow what a tense ending as Doyle along with the bad guy tries to defuse the bomb meant to blow up London. GREAT STUFF.
44 anna parrish from u.s.a.: I wrote for the fanzines, thats how much I loved the professionals... especially Martin Shaw. There's something special about his eyes.
43 susanne from usa: I grew up in germany and was a teen when the series became a hit. my best friend and i were so into the show, we had our own action cases and played out roles with toyguns and all that. we had our own codenumbers and once in a while, when we write each other we still use them.
42 Debbie Donohue from Sydney, Australia: Loved The Professionals since 1985 when it was on TV in Australia. Fave bits are the Cowley and a woman banter in Look after Annie and the Breakfast banter in the Gun. Somehow I don't think Lewis likes carrot juice.
41 Yvette from Croydon: The series is fantastic, watch all 57 episodes on DVD, there are lots of little extra lines here and there. Plan for 2003 is to meet either Martin or Lewis, means a trip to Los Angleles or Norfolk!. Favourite eps 'Fugitive' and 'Man without a Face.'
40 Mark from Bishop's stortford: It doesn't get any better than this, the action, the actors and the british institution that is the Ford Capri!!!!
39 russ hamish from malbourne Aust: I will never forget the pain drug hypnosis episode where the guy is implanted by masterful psych mind controller Steven Berkoff to kill 5 men, including Gordon Jackson, and then escape to an airport. Thhis episode portrays exactly what the factual psychiatric mind kontrol programs like MKUltra are all about, and exactly how they work.
38 Avril from Florida, U.S.A.: All of the episodes are my favourites! I am from England originally and have always followed The Profs and would love to be kept up to date with all the new info. I would especially like to know where Lewis Collins is at the moment. I hear he is in California. Is he working there? I would love to hear from Jatona Walker to find out where and how she met Lewis. (You lucky thing).
From Avril, Florida, U.S.A.
37 marisa from argentina: my favourite moment? I only know that when Bodie smiles, stares at something or simply open his mouth to talk, I can feel that my heart is melting!!!
36 Diego Miguel Garrido from Argentina: It was my favourite TV serie around the world.
I am 31, and i saw it when i was 16 like first time.
I saw all series. In Argentina it run on TV about 11.00 PM or 11.30 PM, my mother said "Diego you must go to schooll tomorrow "
I went to schooll asleppy :-)
Thanks at all.
35 luke flint from london: Although I am only 17 and wasnt even born when the Profesionals were first aired, I think the programe is ACE !!! I love it, why cant they still make T.V Shows like this, with hard men, even harder villans, great cars, and brilliant theme tunes, simply THE BEST.
34 Caroline from Cheshire: In the episode called The Rack.
Doyle is lying on his settee. Bodie is trying to talk him into helping him. Doyle looks up at Bodie and I have to be peeled off the screen.
33 Di (BodieBabe) from OZ (Australia): Fav Pro's Moment?
I have a million, and they all centre around the Studsome Bodie.
Bodie when in Slush Fund, he smacks VanNeikirk around...
Bodie kissing Marikka in Holland Park!!
Everything Bodie!!!
Have a Bodie-licious Day!!!
32 Sammi *agentdoyle45* from Australia: Been a fan of the lads since 1981. Love everything about it. So much so I have a website I designed dedicated to it The Unofficial Australian CI5 HQ. Also I write fanfic too. Design my own wallpapers etc. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
Cheers
31 Mathew from Wilson: Wicked score / soundtrack - Where can I get it? Its like the Herbaliser or something. God please, someone sample it.
30 sara mitchell from shardlow: fantastic what brilliant actors bodie was my favourite the best crime busters since carter and reagan its not out dated now bring them back
29 krysia morfey from portsmouth: The Professionals was one of the best programmes I have seen Martin Shaw was and is still one of my favourite actors he made the series one of the best.
28 Peter Skellern from Hereford, UK: THE BEST SHOW EVER!!!!! Capris, flares, green credits, jazzy soundtrack, caramel leather jackets, drunk scottish bosses and even a kevin keegan bubble perm. they dont make them like that anymore (bugs for example) '3-7 out'
27 Rosie from New York, US: Favorite memories from Pro's? Many: the eyelashes, the pout, the eyebrow, the all-too-brief glimpses of flawless skin, the Swiss Rolls, the driving technique. Oh, and the blond bruiser wasn't bad either! ;D
26 Donna Bowers from NYC, USA: I love the Pros! Bodie & Doyle, yum yum tasty!
Great action, fun plots and 2 gorgeous creatures in skin tight trousers! Just as good as when I was in college! I have all the dvds so far and I can't wait for the rest!
25 Corinne from Epsom, Surrey: Fast cars and those trousers! What can I say one of the best shows on TV back then and even now. Never miss it!
24 kevin from brownhills: By far the best cop show on tv.Having grown up with them, its fantastic to see them on the telly again.
23 peter reading from carrickfergus,co. antrim: Cop shows come no better than the Professionals and the Sweeney.
They didn't worry about political correctness.
And they managed to do one difficult thing few others have combined humour with action and still made it believeable.
22 Zoe from Barnsley: Fantastic show, very realistic...very very gorgeous stars, especially Lewis Collins.
Loved the stories, love the DVDs.
21 Ivan Shaw from London: The professionals is the best programme on TV today. I never miss an eposide and if I'm out when the programme is on I have it taped. My wife is also a great fan! Her favourite character is Doyle. Can anyone tell me what has Lewis Collins starred in since the end of the professionals.
20 Barry from Birmingham: The professionals is by far one of the best action series of the seventies. Bodie is super smooth and a hit with all of the girls, I wish I had his luck, I suppose I'll have to buy a 3 litre capri to improve my chances
19 Gary Whittaker from West Yorks: When the show was originally on it got to no 1 in the ratings and that was with a repeat, beating even oronation Street! It spent 72 weeks in the top twenty charts during it's run Fantastic! Great to see it back on our screens. Still get the urge to put a combat jacket on,get a capri and go on a mission. Check out the New Professionals to see how good the original really is.
18 Debbie from Southampton: I'm only 17 but I love the professionals, partly because its a great show, but mostly because Bodie's soooo nice!
17 Keith Kirkham from Leeds,England: Without a doubt the Professionals was the best police show on the box in the 70's.
When i had Sky fitted and i found the Profesionals was on i couldn't wait.
And when the first series came out on DVD i couldn't wait to rush out and buy it.
16 P Lane from Bolton: The show is a classic, the car chases and everything. the cars are great to, they dont make them like this any more!
15 Kristina Harmsworth from Bracknell: I am lucky enough to live near where a few episodes were filmed and it is strange to see how the landscape has changed over the years. They even paid tribute to it in several episodes "Need to Know" and where the jungle ends". No there is no such place as RAF Binfield but there is a nice white manor that does very well in a training exercise!!
14 Baz from Derby, England: My fave Professionals moment is from the episode Man Without A Past. The car chases are great, and the episode on the whole is brilliant, but I like the last part in the hospital. It is so funny.
13 Bec from Birkenhead: The hair was huge and the outfits just as ridiculous, but The Professionals demonstrates that the old 'uns are the best. Just shows you can't beat a good set of flares and a pure malt scotch.
12 Al from Liverpool: Because The Professionals (and The Sweeney) were the best action-series of the 1970's and nothing since comes close!
11 Jatona Walker from San Dimas, CA/USA: As I said, I love 'partner'
shows and what a show!!
has a great following here
in the USA!
I got to finally meet Lewis
Collins. I found him charming
and a great singing partner!
10 DENISE COOGAN from CO ANTRIM: I think the best from the seventies is the professionals why? because martin shaw & lewis collins are still the sexiest men on tv forget david soul & paul micheal glaser these guys are the best bodie & doyle forever.
9 Peter Reading from Co. Antrim: Because there was no worry about political correctness. The interaction between the 3 main characters was excellent combined with excellent storylines and a touch of humour, without making it unbelieveable, makes the Professionals one of the best action shows ever.
8 Alison Waldock from London: Even though Martin Shaw hates it, it is still a classic. It is also interesting to see my taste in men when I was young !
7 Amanda Mallinder from Tingley: Both bodie and doyle were and still are just gorgeous, but when I was a kid i loved the capri and the fast driving, even now when driving and I go around a corner a little too fast i think about Bodie and Doyle, the action was good but the comedy timing and one liners were just on the mark, one minute you were on the edge of your seat with action then falling off it with laughter, an undisputable classic.
6 Beth Phillips from Devon: Because it's great entertainment man! Bodie and Doyle are the best of the best, Cowley SHOUTS ALL THE TIME, and not an episode goes by without a decent drop of malt passing their lips. Marvellous stuff. 3-7 out!
5 Hazel Fisher from Essex: Well Martin Shaw for starters, just a good show that reminds me of the 70's and friday nights infront of the telly
4 Jackie Radford from Hatfield: Because Martin Shaw is the Sexiest man on TV!
3 June Swanston from Essex: I have seen (well, heard) Professionals ever since I was born! When I used to cry at night, my mum would take me into the living room and put one of her Professionals tapes on! ( and I would stop crying!). Now though, I can actually understand what is going on, and I think it is the best programme ever made! It contains action (lots of it!) suspence, comedy ( my favourite part is where Bodie tells Doyle that to go out with the new girl Doyle will have to let her beat him!) drama, romance and it even deals with some moral issues, (like in the episode 'Discovered In A Graveyard'). Not forgetting the mistakes made, like getting their call numbers wrong, and Doyle wearing boots and then in the next second he is wearing trainers! The whole cast is great with Cowley a very strong, powerful man, but still has a conscience! Bodie and Doyle are tough guys, (that you don't mess with!) but are still 'big softies' underneath! (and are both hot!) The best part though I think, is when Bodie frowns he looks really scary, but then he produces his famous smile the whole screen lights up, which melts all the girl's hearts in the room, especially mine.
2 Kay McKenna from Grimsby: Well it was a toss-up between The Pros and Starsky and Hutch. The Pros won by a narrow margin. Reasons:- Martin Shaw and Lewis Collins! Oh and those car chases with the Capris and the Escort RS2000. Not forgetting the fights and shoot outs.
1 Tommy Charlish from Coventry: Crazy car chases, crazy clothes, Why do I like it? God Only knows, The plots are just so absurd, the acting BAD - and yet I tune in every time it's on. Says something about me, I guess
