Home To Roost Fan Tributes

5 Pam Bray from New Zealand: Favourite episode (there were so many) tho the Skegness holiday sticks in my mind with Matthews attempts to brighten up the time for a visiting young lady; and poor old Dad being blamed for the kebab! also the episode when Dad was teaching Matthew to box. I have these episodes on video and watch them occassionally; also I like to follow Reece Dinsdales carreer; I also watched him in the series "Haggard" - with Keith Barron - that show was classic! I also have a few episodes of that one saved to a video tape. John Thaw of course was a great actor in later years I had watched him in the Inspector Morse series..shame they dont have shows like these any more!

4 lynne from scotland: i was only like two yrs old when it was first out always catch it on itv3 its a gid programe ma fav esp so far was when matthew was trying to get his parents back together

3 Steve from Dorchester: John Thaw showed himself to be very capable as a comedy actor. He had a dryness that worked and he never tried too hard.

2 Sue from Liverpool: This was one of those eighties sitcoms that passed you by but was underated in some ways. My favourite episode was when a pregnant punk came to stay. I think John Thaw proved himself to be a good comedy actor in this series. He will be sorely missed.

1 Sue from Liverpool: I loved John Thaw in this and his on-screen son, Matthew was good too. It was very typical of those mid eighties sitcoms. They passed you by and weren't really remembered. This was another eighties sitcom that was a bit underrated as far as I was concerned. It had it's moments, especially that episode when Matthew brings home a pregnant punk girl! I've still got that on tape somewhere! I think John Thaw did comedy very well! He is sorely missed.
