Fawlty Towers

Fawlty Towers Picture
Hotelier Basil Fawlty strives for success but is continually foiled at every turn. As the world crashes in around him time after time, the business of running a hotel falls to the gorgon-like Sybil, the level-headed Polly and - with variable results - the meek and muddled Manuel. A procession of demanding guests ensures that life is never dull, and a series of small disasters leads to some of the most embarrassing moments ever witnessed by man.

Fawlty Towers Fan Tributes

7 Mandy from Newcastle Upon Tyne: My favourite has to be 'The Germans' The whole script was brilliant and I laugh every time Basil does the funny walk! Communication Problems is a classic too, when Mrs Richards bangs her head and Basil asks "Is this a piece of your brain?" So Funny!

6 Wendy from Belfast!: I must say that Fawlty Towers is one of the greatest programs ever!! I love it! Its very hard to choose a favourite because they were all fantastic, but Communication Problems made me laugh from the very start to the very end!!

5 wasim from East London: Fawlty towers ABSLOUTE BRILLIANCE. One of the best things that happened to BBC, Basil Fawlty, what a character, the relationship and back chat he use to show his wife, if only i could do the same, and Manuel, Good old Manuel, Ke! love one out of many bits the one he beat his car up with the bush hilarious, and the sexy Polly.
Loved it then, and still do.

4 jacqui c-w from bournemouth: The whole cast were brilliant. Having watched this many times in the past 29 years I still laugh as though it was the first time I had seen it. My favourite scetch has to be the Major talking to the moose"s head.

3 dave from chelt: I say that its time for a big budget remake- perhaps showing an older basil still under a watchful sybil, maybe in the midst of handing the reigns over their children, but with basil still as manic as ever... come on someone, let's roll!

2 The Worm from Cambridge UK: Funniest programme ever (with the possible exception of a couple of episodes of Fools & Horses - oh, and Tom & Jerry of course). German episode was just awesome... "my God, you're ugly"

1 Emma Brooks from Middlesbrough: the german episode where bazil argues with 1 of the germans. The german goes will you stop going on about the war. Bazil says you started it the german says we did not. And Bazil says yes you did you invaded poland brilliant.
