And this was i think before the internet. If anyone knows anything about this will they please let me know. Many thanks.
102 Paul Hulme from birmingham uk: My late father peter and younger brothers bob and carl appeared on my favourite episode of the great series that was strange but true !.
It was back in sptember 1997 and it was about my father`s claims of a past life in cromwells army during the english cival wars of the 1640s,i have uploaded it onto youtube aswell as other shows that told there remarkable story!, please check out my site on youtube at phulme61..

97 tom from exeter: ive always had intrests in paranormal spooky things and ghostly stories, to me this is one of the best shows ever from my childhood please... bring back on dvd and like other comments make new episodes, or at least on dvd as ive been hoping to see this for years now so many memories of being realy scared, the music and the way it were presented hearing from the people who had encounters reconstructions very well done very creepy, one episode that is actualy posted on youtube aswell as few others is the one with the phantom hitchhiker that one still haunts me to this day, this is a classic in everyway,im not intrested in programs like most haunted etc strange but true will always be the best, also theres a series called a haunting and creepy both are brill, we need more like those
96 Bob Hepworth from Norwich: Great program where in those days it was more QUALITY than quantity as it is nowadays. So called "most haunted" is just a cheap clone of SBT. Unfortunately quality programs like this are getting very rare as cheap clones enter the media.
95 maurice dobson from northwich cheshire: SBT was the best tv programme ever shown i never missed one show, it would be the first thing i would purchase if it was released on DVD.
94 michael fox from hartlepool: i absolutely loved strange but true the series it was the best series on tv about ghosts and the paranormal i would be grateful if it ended up on dvd personally i would go to great lengths to buy it on dvd and they should also do a new series aswell and the programme started me of with a massive interest with the paranormal and ive had some ghostly experience myself please please put it on dvd
93 john carpenter from devon: i loved strange but true when i was a kid. can you help me i am trying to get it on Dvd where can i buy it any idea's thank you.
92 andree from glasgow: i loved strange but true thats when i first become interested in the paranormal! one of the tv series woz about an airfield an the guys were all having a group photo done!! unfortunately one of the pilots was killed accidentally by one of the plane propellors while checking the plane!!anyway the next day they had their group photo done an there was a ghostly image of a man in the photo, an it turned out to be the man that died the day before. i can remember being facinated by this cause the picture seamed so clear but yet so earie. bring back strange but true please
91 Peter from Crewe, Cheshire.: I loved every episode of this series, I am open minded and believe that we will never have a true understanding of the unknown, thier is more to this existance than the eye can see, which makes the subject of the paranormal so interesting, my favourite episode of SBT was the two couples who travelled through time whilst on holiday in France, and the couple in the best kept village, Frampton 1977, Lets have another series PLEASE!
90 Andrew Parsell from Pembroke Dock: Strange But True now on Paranormal channel, repeats of all episodes, episodes on at start of week are all repeated later in week and on weekend Splendid!!!
89 Sue Simpson from leeds: I was the subject of an interesting story on strange but true. Unfortunately the sound when edited was of poor quality and most of it ended up on the cutting room floor! Im in the book though!
88 Jamie from North East England: This show as brilliant i used to watch it every week when i was little and have to sleep with the light on because i as too scared ha. BRING IT BACK!!
87 Colin Brittain from Whitby Yorkshire: As if proof is needed of being strange but true. My last post was seeking a copy of the series as a keepsake on the one show I helped with. An e-mail notified me it was being aired on the paranormal channel. I recorded an episode and was absolutely stunned to find the first episode we watched was the one I was after, it was so coincidental.
I have it saved on sky plus and am sorting to have it transferred. It is so bizarre.
86 Colin Brittain from Yorkshire: It was a fascinating show and one that I worked on. I wondered if anyone has the show(s) on DVD. I would like to have a keepsake but the producers want extortionate fees.

80 Duane from Derbyshire: strange but true has started being aired again on the new paranormal channel on sky, channel 212
79 Paula from Wigan: I wish they would make more programmes such as this, or even the repeats would be nice, there's a place for the 'reality' style shows like Most Haunted but you can't beat a good documentary type format too, especially when it was as well done as 'Strange but True' was. Very atmospheric....
78 ian from sheffield: love this show especialy the stocksbridge bypass one. if anyone has any episodes upload them on you tube loads of people are requesting to see them again.
77 Rich & Steve from Worcester: This was the best television series of the 1990's!

72 CiarĂ¡n Gibson from Belfast, Ireland: I loved this program as a kid. Me and my sister would always watch it on a Friday or Saturday night - I can't remember which - and her boyfriend would know that we were watching it and would ALWAYS try to scare us in different ways when coming back from work. It was so interesting! Loved it! Bring it back! I want to watch all the old episodes! =]

69 Alison from Newcastle: arrr. i remember the one with the poltergeist...with the girl floating on her bed...and there was a pillow on the roof...and they recorded a voice and he sounded horrible...im sure there was something about marbles aswell?? my sister would always say that at the end it said it was all made up to stop me getting scared. I wish it was still on even though i lost sleep after watching it. scray stuff!

64 Paul from Sussex, UK: I loved this show so much!
63 B Thirlwell from Basingstoke: I also, found Strange But True fascinating. The vanished hotel in Timeslip particulrly interested me because my son and I experienced something very similar when in Spain. The series would be much welcomed if shown again and could give scope for a further series that explored deaper (research into old records surrounding the mysteries for example) and offer some explanations.
62 Maria from Nottingham: this programme was brilliant and some episodes were so scary.
61 kelly from bexhill: i loved this program way back wen im 20 now but you should soo bring it back or play the repeats of the series on tv its legendary
60 Greg from Market Drayton, Shropshire: Its so hard to belive that the majority of the people that remember this were so young. To this day, me being 17 now, this program is still my favourite, it used to be a cop out for going to bed at 9, although i hardly slept after watching some of the episodes i still always watched the next one. And im still so fascinated with all the things it explored. I hope they bring it out on dvd or something as otyhers have said its one of the most potent memorys of my childhood.

57 Azmat Baig from Worcester: ** Bring Back This Show ** - It's a must !!! One of the best TV shows in a lot of peoples opinion. (Please) LOL
56 rob from barry: i almost forgot about this show and how scary it was but the one episode that sticks out in my mind is when i was staying with my family in a remote region of scotland and it was quite stormy outside. when a girl hears growling noises (monster) coming from her wardrobe in the middle of the night and she gets up to go and investigate, then just as shes about to open the door the tv signal cuts out, scared the hell into me as everyone was glued to the screen.
55 Nathan from Manchester: I never realised SBT had been so popular and remembered. I'm 18 now as many of the people above seem to be and I also remember watching it with my dad when I was a kid. Aww man I've tried searching everywhere for it to no avail.
BRING IT BACK!!!
54 Sam from N.Wales: I am 17 now and i used to love this programe, i'd watch it all the time with my dad. I just suddenly thought about it the other night, and have been trying to remember the name, so i came on here and found it, i cant believe id forgotten about it till now.

51 Barry from Kirkcaldy: my faveourite episode was definately the hitchhiker it was freaky definately the scariest episode by far
50 Sarah from Rugby: God I used to love this show!!! Scared the living daylights out of me but couldn't not watch it. The episode that has always stuck in my mind is the children around the pylon and the monk. I seem to remember that it was aired early October, possibly the 6th as it was my parents wedding anniversary and they were having a posh meal while I watched tv elsewhere. Like that happened, I was too scared to watch it on my own and gatecrashed their nice meal so I could watch it without being scared!!! Please bring it back, it's timeless and I'm sure tons of people have had experiences that could be investigated.
49 Harry from St Andrews: I am led to believe that Strange but True, either still is, or was, on sale in the Netherlands on dvd. A friend of mine spotted the series all boxed up approximately 4-5years ago in a store in Rotterdam!! Only wished he had purchased it.
Has anyone else come across it for sale?
Regards, Harry.
48 SM from England: Has anyone got any episodes on dvd that they could share please?
47 Sarah Louise from Ilkeston -Nottingham: I LOVE this show, why why why did it stop ??!!! I used to watch it when i was little and it scared me so much! Do you remember the one where that couple stayed in that hotel/lodge house in France and took loads of pics and when they were developed they didnt come out and it turned out the lodgehouse was non exsitant and had burnt to the ground killing everyone and this was 200 yrs before!
46 adam from leicester: Bring strange but true back. i loved every moment of it. please please please !!!!!!!!!
45 sarah from scarborough: me and my mum used to watch the show when i was little it was great i wish it could be on again, it would still be good if the old series were to be put on uk gold or something.
44 Jose from California: man, this tv show really scared me when i was a kid. i used to watch this with my mom. i could still remember this episode when two friends could tell if the other is in danger just by looking at the two starfish they each found at the beach one night. then one day, one of them noticed that the starfish was all curled up. later on, he heard a knock on the door and and when he opened it, he saw his friend all bloody, telling him that he got into an accident. the other friend ran to get his first aid kit, but when he came back, his friend was gone. he later found out that his friend had already died earlier, a couple of hours before he saw him at the door.
43 gemma from kidwelly: i really miss the show and im gutted its not being shown anymore tv is not the same without it,please tell me that michael is going to start presenting it again even if its repeats.Every episode i would be on the edge of my seat very chilling very exciting
42 jitpal singhori from Leicester: there is an asian terestrial tv station in leicester called MATV that is showing Strange but true every wednesday.
41 dave from cheltenham: when, oh when, oh when, will someone consider releasing this cleverly crafted series on dvd???? have been waiting since it was aired for it to pop on the shelves.... ho, hum!!
40 Karley from Grimsby: omg! the one that freaked me out the most was with that old hut thingy, and all them ghost childen dancing singing 'ring a roses'
and the one with the rocking chair rocking back and forth
freaky stuff people
39 Craig from Nottinghamshire: I used to love watching strange but true - such intriguing viewing it was! I'm now 20 and I was only 9 or 10 at the time when this was on, so it used to really freak me out alot but it was that good I didn't want to miss it. It brings back great memories of my childhood but how standards of British TV have plummeted since then. :(
38 simon from amesbury, wiltshire: ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! why why why dont they bring a dvd boxset ov the series out it would be a top seller!! the whole thing about the show was great actors, reconstructions, and of course mr aspel himself! from the enfield poltergiests to ufo abductions, from time slips to phantom hitchikers.. please please sum1 make a rerun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
37 tali from midlands: there was a really frightening one about incidents that occured to actress joan collins and a group of friends in an italian mansion due to the ghost of an adulterous 17th century italian aristrocratic woman murdered by her husband.
it ended in joan and her friends fleeing the house in terror
there was also a recent poltergiest case featured in ireland i think, where a young visitor wet himself when he looked inside the house from the garden window to see paranormal activity
36 Pete Dobson from London UK: I think SBT was a fantastic program and should be brought back on the air. I loved the show even though it scared me as a child. I'm 17, nearly 18 I was 8-9 when the show was about, I was frequent viewer. Is there any way of bringing it back on the air. I remember watching all the episodes of the poltergeiests, the subject facinates me Peace Out
35 Neil Robinson from Scunthorpe: My best episode of the series was when they showed how dogs could have the sixth sence
34 Dan from Halifax: Strange But True is without peers amongst 90's programming. Does anybody know how many episodes were made? My fave episode is the one about the bypass, when the security guards are on patrol at night to stop protesters. I won't spoil what happens, but one never returns to work, and one took six months off!! Im looking forward to the repeats in july.
33 Dean Jones from Souty Wales: I remember watching an episode about a building site and the security saw monks, but my favorite one was the phantom hitch hiker when a woman kept appearing on the side of the road and appeared on a mans motor bike, I love these show.
32 kris from leeds: strange but true rocks!
Aspel wot a guy!
31 Alex MacKenzie from Sheffield: I was totally addicted to Strange but True, and was chuffed to bits when I got a part in a reconstruction. I played a young girl called Audrey Twigg, she was on a picnic with her mum when she saw a plane flying very low in the sky, she pointed it out to her mum but she couldn't see it....the plane that she saw was actually a phantom plane...anyone remember?
30 scott from scunthorpe north lincolnshire: I am 17 now but when strange but true came out I remember watching the Enfield poltergeist and I was only about 7. For two or 3 months after that I had nightmares everynight and always used to think I was going to be thrown out of bed. It was a really good episode and I hope they will put that one on again!
29 julie newman from dagenham: I was really spooked by the Pretoria incident involving a young girl who was about to be married and was killed in a car accident, and is still haunting the route on the N9. The Enfield poltergeist was really spooky too - great show!
28 Splodge from Cheshunt: Proof of life after death and of spirits and souls.
27 jaz from uk: aspel, why u stopped your show, do make more strange but true series. thy r very intresting.
26 Andrea from Surrey: my favourite episode was about the guard at dover castle who walked straight through a female visitor, really scared me!!
25 Matthew from She: I loved Strange But True when I was a kid, it was one of my favorite programmes, I thought the episode about The Bypass Monk was excellent, and the one about the War plane crash too. A DVD/Video release should definitely be on the cards, if its not already released, I think it would sell well in the shops, I for one would buy it!
24 Rory Betts from Chingford: I recall a particular episode in which a woman driving down a lonely stretch of road saw a U.F.O.
23 Sridhar Sarnobat from Cardiff, UK: The story of a World War jet that flew over a field before crashing, and a young child standing in that field 40 years later was able to see that crash from the same spot.
22 TOM from West Midlands: I am only 15 and I remember strange but true very well because there was one particular episode which well and truly frightened me, and it was the story involving 2 police officers who sighted the ghost of a monk. I would really like to see this show on video and DVD, it deserves it.
21 Teresa Prout from Calne, Wiltshire.: I would like to know if there is going to be a new series of Strange But True.
I would also love to see the original episodes repeated as I never got round to recording them on video.
20 Craig Arnold from Nottingham: The most memorable episode
contains the haunting at the
mine. Very good show.
Derserves a video and DVD
release!
19 Tom from Enfield: Oh, i loved this show as a child! Living in enfield, the poltergeist episode really messed me up. It terrified me every week but i still watched it. Great stuff. The fact it only ran for 2 series is a travesty.
18 Noah from Toronto: My favourite episode was the one where the woman is afraid of water and she goes to the hairdresser and gets water sprayed in her hair, and she screams like a banshee. Strange but true is perhaps the funniest show I have ever watched.
17 Melissa from County Durham: I am 14 now but when the series came out I was vey young. It was really good although then I didn't really understand the programme. Now I do and my favourite episode is the 'Durham Puma' this is very strange because where I live is right next to where you did a reconstruction of the findings (in Fishburn Cokeworks). Although this programme isn't extremely scary, it is extremely good!!!
16 Azmat Baig from worcester: when is the programme coming back on as it is the best ever!!!
15 Beverley Young from Hertfordshire: I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS A REALLY GOOD SERIES AND WAS DISAPPOINTED WHEN IT FINALLY FINISHED-THERE ARE SO FEW PARANORMAL PROGRAMMES ON TV.
FAVE EPISODE WAS THE ONE FEATURING THE ENFIELD POLTERGIEST AS I GREW UP NEARBY AND IT WAS A CASE THAT FASCINATES ME TO THIS DAY.
14 tom from southport: I REALLY LOVED THE PROGRAMME I USED TO WATCH IT WHEN I WAS ABOUT 8 OR 7 I GOT A NIGHTMARE ONCE ABOUT IT THATT MY BROTHER KETP LAUGHING REALLY HORRILBE AND SLAMING THE DOOR!! I REALLY WANT IT TO BE STILL ON OR COULD YOU LET ME SEE EPISODE ON THE INTERNET! THANKS ............ TOM
13 Jacob Bebb from Stocksbridge: I thought the episode with the Stocksbridge Bypass monk was extremely scary. I live within sight of the Bypass and thus I thought the episode was both much more intersting and more 'spooky' than all the other episodes.
12 Richard Ossitt from Norfolk: My favourite episode was the poltergeist one with the one in the house, and the little girl was posessed, they bring back some memories of childhood, did anybody else think that Michael Aspel was scary. his voice was really really scary and blood curdling.
11 Laura from cardiff, wales in the Uk: my mum wouldn't let us stay up late to watch TV so when she feel asleep we would all go in my brothers room (the only other room with a TV besides the living room) and watch strange but true in the dark as not to wake my mother.
We used to be so scared after watching my brother had to walk back with us to our room just down the hall!
10 Fiona from Sheffield: This was one of the great shows of the 90's, me and my sister have fond memories watching each episode every week. We loved all of the episodes, but our very favourite one was the 'Stocksbridge Bypass Story' as we live nearby and that story really spooked us out! We still possess an original of that episode on video when it was shown on TV about 1994. I think everything about Strange But True was excellent! The studio, Michael Aspel, the stories, the actors/actresses, and last but not least the Title Music! Hat off to the composer, you couldn't have written a more suitable and haunting melody. It sounds crazy (maybe we are crazy) but I get quite a comforting feeling when I hear that tune! I really hope someday that the complete series is released on video/DVD.
9 Jane Churchill from Poulton-le-fylde nr Blackpool: My favourite memory of strange but true is the series when it was about Munchaster Castle. Also the one about Chingle hall.
8 jamie earl from calne wiltshire: my best moment was when the money was stuck on the ceiling and the the two men was taking it down every day.

thanks for the great shows!!!!
i am addicted once again lol!!!
jenna xx
3 Aaron from Bracknell: I remember this too and finally know which channel it's on. The most memorial moment was when an alien spacecraft had visited the woods of a place and around 12 army men confirm to see it with close proximity. Brights lights, but this one was a shape of a sphere and the lights rotated around each other independently of one another as if boats were moving on the sea. It also happened on Boxing Day. Can we really dismiss all claims to paranormal occurrances many with people whom we trust - even the army I think are a reputive figure, considering SAS etc.
2 Hannah from Stoke-on-Trent: I am now 15 years old but when Strange but True was first broadcast on ITV, I was only 7 years old. It became a weekly friday night ritual for my brother, Adam now 20, and myself to sit in the dark and watch the great Michael Aspel present the most spine tingling reconstructions that could be found. We continued to watch it throughout the series even though it terrified us and we found it most difficult to even climb the stairs unaccompanied afterwards. Our favourite episode of Strange but True was the episode regarding the Enfield Poltergeist. We would like to see more new episodes on our screens sometime in the near future. Michael Aspel this is your life!!
1 Gerard from Stoke on Trent: My favourite memory is from some years back, when strange but true was shown on itv. One particular episode was extremely chilling. It was an account of a monk, which haunted stocksbridge bypass. The reconstruction was of what two officers witnessed one particular night, when investigating reports made by security guards of seeing children dancing to ring a ring of roses, around a pylon. The children were said to be apparitions. The police stayed one night to investigate, and this is when they had their chilling encounter with the monk. Also further reprots of people driving through a monk, which turned to mist, were reported.
The episode was extremely chilling, especially during the dark, and the account, was excellently told and reconstructed. it has always been my favourite episode.
