Sorry! Classic TV Show
Corbett is perfectly cast as the repressed 41 year old who cannot break away from his dominant mothers apron strings. In an under-played role William Moore steals the show as Timothy's father, Sidney.
Sorry! Fan Tributes6 Liz from Stratford on Avon UK: Sorry has got to be my very favourite tv series. It has lifted me out of depression. My fav episode was the one where Timothy was invited to be best man at Francis' wedding. Does anyone know where the series was filmed and does anyone have any of the later recordings (ones not yet released)
5 David Martin from Melbourne, Aust: RONNIE CORBETT !!
I really liked 'Now Look Here' from 1973. Richard O'Sullivan was in it, along with Donald Hewlett (It Ain't HHM).
Wasn't there a follow up series where they run a pub called The Prince of Denmark ~ and wasn't that the name of the series too?
It doesn't appear on the Internet database (but then neither is there much about 'Now Look Here".)
I'd love to see an episode guide - WITH SYNOPSES - to those series-es just to remember how funny they were. They were written by Graham Chapman & Barry Cryer but they seem to have been totally overlooked on the internet.
There was also a real early one called 'No, That's Me Over Here' (1967) FOUR YEARS BEFORE THE TWO RONNIES - also about an office, but I don't remember seeing that one.
'Notice how I've dodged talking about 'Sorry' ?
But I really liked the Office one and the Pub one a whole lot better.
4 fizzybubbly1 from Essex U.K.: I loved everything about Sorry!
Poor Timothy when he couldnt do anything right. I loved it when he finally stood up to his Mother!
You can see in some episodes where Barbara Lott is trying very hard not to smile!
To top it all, the funniest saying is from Father..."Language Timothy!"
3 Janice Gatehorn from Settle: What a fantastic show!!!! Ronnie was a little man with a big personality. British comedy has never quite scaled the same heights. I nearly wet my self laughing every time that old dragon of mother shouted "Timothy".
2 Linda from Newcastle Upon Tyne: I loved "Sorry!" - the tune was out of this world, very catchy, I will never forget it. Little Ronnie is one of the Greats of British Comedy. My friend's Dad went to School with him in Edinburgh.
1 Allen Reavie from N Ireland: Loved this programme but it should be shown on a daily basis when it can be enjoyed by all.
