An all star cast appear for this two-hour adaptation of the Richard Harris comic play. It's summer and willow strikes leather as the members of an amateur cricket club try to attempt a straight bat as they defend against marital strife.

4 Ann Saunders from Hampshire: I love this play, particularly the character of Maggie, played excelentll by Maureen Lipman. She sorts everyone out in her own unique way and stands no nonsense. I particularly liked the way she dealt with Alex.

AWARDS
Paul Eddington was nominated for a BAFTA award in 1983 for his role in Yes Minister.

Maureen Lipman has been nominated twice for BAFTA awards for best supporting actress in Educating Rita and for her TV show Agony.

Prunella Scales also received a BAFTYA nomination in 1992 for A Question of Attribution.
