4 Ivy Ling from Beijing, China: I remember "My favorite Martian" when I was a girl. "My friend Flicka" was on AMC when I was a very little girl. Natasha Richardson died in March of 2009. "Full House" was on TV when I was a little girl. Bill Bixby was a good man. "Lost in Space" premiered two years after "My favorite Martian".
3 Peter Greenwood from Jack Chertok Television.: I would really love to see a DVD release for the UK..
If you are a British fan let your local DVD companys know it's up for grabs...have them contact this site for the Chertok Television email address. Best to all and thanks for your support.
2 kennard f.massey,jr. from queenstown,md.: I love this show because the characters are so likable. Walston and Bixby are great, and so is Pamela Britton, who never gets the credit she deserves.
1 Joe Posner from San Jacinto, CA: "My Favorite Martian" was a very unusual show for its time.
When the show debuted in 1963, few science fiction shows were on at the time in the U.S., with the exception of "The Outer Limits" and a few others. "Star Trek" and "Lost in Space" were still a few years off.
On of the keys that made the show work was the balance between Bill Bixby and Ray Walston. Handsome journalist Bixby was very down-to-earth. Odd-looking Walston was quite off beat. Somehow, between them, they made a ridiculous premise believable.
An ongoing irony of the show was the fact that the biggest story of journalist Bixby's career(MARTIAN LIVES WITH EARTHMAN) was the one he couldn't, or wouldn't, tell.
"My Favorite Martian" brings back pleasant memories of a kinder, and more innocent, era.
