61 a cook from blackburn: I liked the sketch were kenny and cleo rocos got eaten by a cash machine because they overdrawn.
60 Alex from Sydney Australia: Love Kenny still, great memories, and a really influential and clever influence in comic expression and performance, he always came across as chaotically funny and pisstaking, but never really mean or hurtful, he was a staple before Doctor Who, and formed a big chunk of my childhood. Far cleverer than many around him at the time, and highly underrated. A charming subversive.
59 Shane from Melbourne: Turned camp humour very cool in the late 70s early 80s.
Anybody know of a resource that lists a synopsis of each show?
58 payl miles from cardiff south wales: i cant describe how sad i was when i found out that kenny everett had died i was very very upset the world has lost a true comic legend and im so glad that sky channel paramount 2 r re running the entire television shows that he made ive recorded them all he was a true classic i cant say enough about this great tv legend never had a chance to meet the guy would av loved to. he was 1 of the best thw world wont be the same without him.
57 joan from devon: My favorite Kenny moment was 'The twelve Days of Christmas' when he and Cleo were dressed in Victorian costumes and I think there was a choir singing that song and as they sang the got covered in Bird sh*t, pear trees gold rings and the further on it went there were lords a leaping, maids a milking etc. i remember laughing till i cried. I've never seen it since I wonder of it still exists
56 cliff from Spalding, lincs, UK: i'm really pleased they're repeating his shows again. I remember the bowie skit with angry of mayfair. He told bowie to chase him and cll him names, so bowie does that shouting out NAME, NAME! Excellent stuff. By one of those strange coincidences, I have been sorting out all my old audio tapes with a view to binning most of them and came across one with no label so I played it. It turns out it's a charity recording from when Kenny was on Capital radio and he;s with michael aspel and elton john! It's a long ahow but really funny. Dates from the mid to late 70's.
55 Robert Boyne from Dublin, Ireland: I juSt want to say i absoutley love kenny everett and his show. I know im only 18 and im a 90's kid, but when i watch his show, its like its a memory from the past and its kenny who does that. His show is just great and its a real gem!!! I absoutley love 'Cupid Stunt'. You just cant beat her. 'Done in the best posssibbble taste' BRILLIANT'
We LOVE you kenny and we will NEVER EVER forget you.
Love you LOTS kenny, R.I.P
54 Georgina from Ireland: Ive grown up watching Kenny. The day he died I cried for days. I still do. He was ahead of his time. He will be missed. There is a hole in comedy that he left behind and it can never be filled again. The world seems very quiet and dull without him. We miss you Ken xx
53 john from smith: love the Rod Stewart clip.
Never seen an arse that large before!
Funny stuff!
52 Frank from Mexico: I cannot stop waching his shows!! he was a wonderful man and every body knows his mind was brilliant too.
51 Rose from Doncaster originally now Toronto Canada: There is no better sketch than Kenny and the kit to become a BeeGee. I can hardly write because the thought alone of this skit cracks me up. I miss Bristish comedy living in Canada - hardly understand the American lingo!
50 Josephine from from Melnourne: I used to spend all my valuable time in class at highschool copying all his catch phrases and laughing myself silly. He was so funny. Loved the Marlon Brando skitts... Dum de dum de dum beeep...
49 frank from boronia heights, Brisbane Australia: What a great comedian, have always loved his shows and the wit was second to none. Greatly missed and yes i would love to see all his shows available in box sets of dvds
48 Trevor Jones from Cornwall England: Good old 'Cuddly Ken' how he made us all laugh and continues to do so. Truly a commedic genius much missed in todays world of 'beige' humour
47 Mick from Amsterdam: One of the funniest gags was the Sid Snot, "I´m not made of bricks" plus this gem from Captain Kremin.
Captain Kremin to Carla: "Carla what's wrong you look upset"
Carla: "I've just been graped"
Kremin: "Don't you mean raped"
Carla: "No, there was a whole bunch of them"
46 David Morgan from Peacehaven: The Tank Commander with all his military medals sticking out from his arm. All done on a small set, absolute mayhem! What talent, no-one comes close.
45 hotcat from Canada: I still say "commercial time" when I want a break...and I loved those space skits...
44 Yvette from South Australia: Frank from Dalby in Queensland we are of like mind. I can still rattle off The Word and recently discovered its origins. It is the name of a hill in New Zealand, the longest place name still in use, but the KEVS added some extra syllables at the end - no idea what they mean - probably "far out what a long name for a hill"...
43 Cat from Calgary, Canada: One of my childhood heroes, I remember when Kenny was dressed as Spiderman and was dying to pee and couldn't get out of his spiderman suit! It was hilarious.
Also loved Brother Lee Love and Cupid Stunt.
Miss you Kenny!
42 julian edwards from australia: we love hot gossip as we are related by fostering to peter knight who sadly passed away 2 years ago we miss them and him
41 Terry Allen from Central Coast NSW Australia: Like most posts here, I still fondly remember the Kenney Everett Video Show. I'm truly surprised that it's not being repeated. Brother Lee Love, Angry Of Mayfair (particularly when chasing David Bowie around the stage), the send-ups of Barbara Streisand & Mick Jagger, rarely has a show combined true humour & even today would probably be considered risque by the humour police - very cool.
40 Steven from Birmingham: I loved Kenny, his sense of humour was unique. I still get turned on watching Hot Gossip - those boys were so handsome. Were they gay - does anyone know???? Oh and does anyone know the name of the track they danced to wearing leather etc, it had the lyrics ' i like it sleazy'??????
39 vic yardley from eastbourne blighty: best bit for me was mickey take of b gees. the one where they were singing mass of chew sets. also cud anyone remember billy connolly being on the progam. i think he was, my mate says no
38 Aloma from USA: I watched Kenny Everett every Saturday night while living on the lower east side of New York in the 80's. My best friends were roadies and tour managers, lots of UK band tours, Psych Furs, DepechMode and Motorhead. We used to drink our selves silly while watching Kenny Evertt and then hit the clubs. Could a man be funnier or the music more interesting. So sorry he has died, now we are left with really crappy MTV UGH!
Favorite memory: watching the Police on Kenny Everett and then heading our for a night of frivolity only to see the Police standing in line with everyone else to watch UKMadness playing at a tiny Tribecca club called TR3.
37 Dave from USA: I only recall the science fictiony cartoony bit from the show when it aired in the SouthBend, IN, market nearby. That was many years ago.
I loved it's rudeness! I was truly sorry to hear Kenny has since died....Dave
36 Geoff cox from australia: needs more kremin for the lovers of carla mmmmmmmm carla
35 Jose Mondragon from DETROIT MI, USA: I saw the best band on the show in 79 or 80 ,..they were called BRITISH LIONS and I was just a kid uplate on Saturday nite tuneing in TV 11 from Toledo OH. on a crapy set of rabit ear antenas ,...I have not seen or head of them since . I alway's looked forward to Saturday nites to tune in Kenny Everett on the tube on clear nite with those crapy rabit ears. That allwasy's takes me bake to sixteen.
34 Craig Betts from Essex, UK: The Kenny Everett Video Show had The Police Lip-Synching a unreleased version of Spirits In The Material World, which has never been released commercially since. Any ideas why this has never been released? I hope they bring out a dvd with this performane on, as its so rare!
Kenny was a genuis, bless him!
Craig, UK
33 Michelle from Nevada, USA: OMG! Talk about bringing back memories! (Yes his program managed to make it to a nite owl spot on a UHF(?) station when I was a teen). One that particularly sticks out in my mind is the repel-a-thug sketch..."oh you can make that mugger, look like a silly fellow, with repel-a-thug...! And the music...made me a police fan! R.I.P. Kenny and thanx for the laughs and intro to great music!
32 samantha from kent uk: I have never laughed as much since the time I saw the spiderman and the urinal sketch. I was rolling around literally screaming with laughter tears rolling down my cheeks, and everytime I thought it was over, I would picture him searching for his flies and it would start all over again. That moment in time will always be with me.
31 Rachel griffiths from crewe cheshire: I remember i was about 4 or 5 when i was watching kenny everett with my dad but it all ended in tears when he jumped through the thames television picture and frightened me to death, i screamed for ages, never again was i allowed to watch it, i still dont like that bit now. By the way im 26 now.
30 Steve from South Australia: I used to love watching the Kenny Everett Video Show when I was a kid. Back then, it was before Dr Who I think ! I have fond memories of having a little crush on Carla :)
29 Bill from South Australia: My all time favorite was the
cartoon sketch "Bambi meets Godzilla"
It was one of those pieces that is lost on verbal translation but every one I know who watched Kenny knows it and loves it.
28 bravokilo from NZ: Ah - fond memories from c. early 80's - theatre of the mind on a par with the Goons -especially Captain Kremmin and Everett's penchant for Ludwig Von Beethoven(?) & brilliant sound effects (records). Also found whole (1st?)album on winMX.com - unfortunately loses some impact/originality not being segmented into separate episodes as on radio (intros & Alan Freeman's "What will happen next...?"/etc)
27 Otakar Kuby from Yorkshire uk: I was just about old enough to appreciate Kenny the first time round... his Toyah and R. Stewart impressions come to mind. He was the first to play Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' all the way through against the wishes of the powers that be.
26 Colin Walters from new Hampshire USA: Kenny doing Rod Stewart in skin-tight leopardskin pants. The pants had inflatable buttocks and as Kenny danced and sang "If you think I'm sexy..." he gradually inflated (and gyrated) his butt until it was positively massive. I think I peed my own pants I was laughing so much.
25 Paolo Canada from same place as D.T. #25: I remember this show too! especially the episode with Elvis Costello. As Derek (25) says it was just another time and place. Good times then...
24 Steve Phyall from Portsmouth UK: I was a big Capital Radio fan as a child and always enjoyed his shows, especially the jingles. His TV show was way ahead of it's time. Every now and then we are treated to a re-run on sky and it brings a tear to my eye to think this man is no longer with us. Pure genius!!
23 Derrick Trudeau from Sault Ste Marie,Ontario,CANADA: The Kenny Everet Video Show now reminds me of a childhood that ended too soon. I haven't laughed that way since. Brother Lee Love's supersized hands always cracked me up. It was a show from another time and place even for back then.
22 Dennis W. Brown from Kennett Square Pennsylvainia: While I was stationed in England I saw the Ken Everett Video Show. It is STILL probably the funniest TV I have ever watched! Kenny is a comedic genious!
21 James B Woodlouse from Canada: Haha. I thought it was really funny when he did that parody of Barbra Streisand.... where every time she turned around, her nose was bigger. Hahaha.
20 L T Radis from Perth, Western Australia: My sister and I would race home from school to watch the Goodies, Dr Who and of course Kenny on the ABC. So many gags but "electric meat" and "press the button marked idiot and see what comes out next" still makes me laff. Too good.
19 Stephanie and Leigh Radis from Perth, Australia: We are STILL waiting for somebody to market "Electric Meat" (just plug it in!!!!). What a laugh!
18 Frank from Dalby QLD Australia: When I was a kid, I was an avid fan of The Goodies, Doctor Who, and of course the Kenny Everett Video Show. In fact, remember the show where it begins: "And now, before you can say.." then that big long word? Well, I taped it, and practised until I could say it. The ability has not been lost over the years, and I can still wow an audience by rattling it off. KEVS was one of the British comedies that helped define my sense of humour. I would absolutely love to see it released on DVD here in Australia so that I can purchase all of the shows and watch them one after the other in order over and over again. Cheers!
17 Sean from Virginia: I used to come home in an altered state of mind every saturday night when I was in highschool to catch the KEVS. I think he was way ahead of his time, especially with the editing. He also linked comedy and hip rock culture in a fashion Americans never really could do--very similar to the Young Ones in that. I remember being absolutely blown away by the Police doing "It's Alright for You." Great satire too--cut through the crap we were being fed but always broadly enough to reach beyond the moment. I miss it.
16 Jonathan from Evanston, IL: I was in high school when his show was on television in Chicago. It was so much funnier than anything else on at the time (except Monty Python, of course). Two of my favorite bits were the animations and his parody of the Bee Gees (what do the Bee Gee's want for Christmas? Men's voices).
15 Jane Chacana from Sydney Australia: My best friend and I would always watch Kenny on the ABC and then talk about it at school the next day. We loved Kenny and could never get enough of watching the "video show". He played a major role in the forming of my sense of humour.
14 Raxx from Pennsylvania, USA: Sheesh! I thought I was the only one who remember Kenny's Video show. Yes i remember the Mondray joke episode. "But for those who really feel that their nerves are made of steel just sit back and relax and have another load it.
13 Kim Roberts from California, USA: I spent 1978-1981 in London & became hooked on his zany humor. I laughed very hard the 1st time I saw Sid Snott.
Keep 'em laughin', luv!
12 CJ from New Jersey: My gosh, Kenny Everett was one of the fondest memories of my childhood. Seriously! My brother and sister just had the best time of our lives watching him. Sid Snot's joke about being "made of bricks".. Karla's "Mondray" remark on Captain Kremmen. Comedy doesn't get any better than this. I've never been on this site before. Hope I find it again.
11 Eric from Chicago,Illinois: Naughty bits!
10 from: I need a fix of Captain Kremin
9 Sean from New Zealand: Kenny was the best, I'm still laughin!
8 Chris from Locks Heath: Watching the show now after 20 or so years, it is still one of the best,if not the best show in its class. The zany humour, mixed in with Hot Gossip (!) - unbeatable.
Definately "all in the best possible taste!"
7 Scott Robertson from Windsor Ontario Canada: I used to watch Kenny on a Detroit TV station in the early 80's, and he was the best thing on at the time... All my musical tastes at the time stemmed from his show... I just wish I could get copies of the shows here in Canada.
6 David Newton from Elizabeth Bay, Sydney, Australia: Kenny was amazing. He was a great commnuicator and after all these years still inspires me. I used to wait each week to see his shows and found his humor very creative. He could take something quite ordinary and make it interesting. And his expressions on his face were funny as was his voices. I think he knew how to 'connect' with his audiences and that's a rare thing. Thanks for making this website, so we can pay homage to a trully great entertainer.
5 Neil from North London: Its great to see this classic show finally repeated again, the Thames t.v series was much funnier than the beebs, it would have been great to have seen the Phillip Elsmore sequence (series 4 episode 1) where he was set up by Ken at the beginning of the show just before the Thames ident was rolled, it was pretty funny.
4 Dave Brammer from Manchester: The clothes and hairstyles may have dated but the humour is as fresh as ever! Kenny's shows for Thames were far better than his later series. Thames were prepared to take more risks than the BBC leaving a wonderful video legacy of a truly, great comedian.
God bless you Ken for all the laughs.
3 Jane Constable from: One of the funniest men ever. I grew up listening to "Cuddly Ken" on the radio and he really made radio listening a pleasure during those angst-filled teenage years! Some of the best characters on the show were Cupid Stunt, Angry of Mayfair, Sid Snot and Pigs in Space. Sheer brilliance.
2 Anne James from Essex: I always loved Kenny Everett, he was a brilliant, funny and ecentric but underrated man. I wish we could see more if his shows.
1 Steve Jones from Taunton: Total uncontrolled mayhem no one since has come close to Kenny Everett and who else could get away with Hot Gossip?????????
