15 Jim Ryan from Manchester England: I was hooked on Hill Street Blues from the first episode. It was at that time the best thing on television. Steven Bochco has produced some great shows but Hill Street Blues is still the best.
14 Julie Albright from San Fransisco, CA: Hill Street Blues was a good show. I remember Hill Street Blues when I was a girl. I wanted to be Fay Furillo. I have a copy of the "Hill Street Blues" theme song. I listened to TV theme songs when I was a little girl. One of my favorite actors is Michael Conrad. I also like "Hawaii Five-O". I like "Hawaii 5-0" and "Hill Street Blues".
13 Cauthon from Deering, NH: One of the few times I watched Hill Street Blues, somebody came into the Captain's office and picked up a container from the desk, shook it and heard it rattle, and asked "Hard candy?" The Captain replied, "No. Esterhaus", and the man put the container right back down. Later they scattered the ashes in the street. I always wondered whether those were really the ashes of the actor who played Esterhaus, since it would have been reasonable for his friends on the show to do that.
12 Four Dinners from Oldham, Lancashire: I actually used to leave the pub early on Friday nights to get home and watch it. Even stood up a date so as not to miss an episode. Got Series 1 and 2 on DVD and regularly watch an episode or two to chill out. (Harvey from Canada - I think you mean Mimi Kuzyk who played Detective Patsy Mayo?)

11 Adele from Scotland: Hill Street Blues is one of my Favourite Shows of the eighties. I have been watching the Re-runs on More 4 and enjoy the Nostalga. Great Show..............

Cannot locate through searches of your show.

9 judy from plymouth, uk: I started watching it again on More Four recently and I am as hooked on it now as I was back in the eighties. My favourite charachter is Larue (always in trouble) and my favourite moment was when he and Washington put the fake crocodile down the sewer. Absolute cracker!! Best cop show ever.
8 Ramona from Houston: Hill Street is a absolute prolog to NYPD Blue. Its sharp and edgy. It shows a great balance between the professional and private lives of the characters. Stephen Bochco is the best!!!

6 Rodell Banks from california: I have never been so swept into a program. Only Miami Vice moved me to similiar loyalty. Bobby Hill and Renko getting shot in the very first shot literally and spiritually left me starving for answers. More than a passing knowledge of several of the stars only sunk the hook in deeper. Betty Thomas will always take my thoughts back to the old days of the Danny Thomas show even though she may not be related. Ed Marinaro brings back the days of watching the NFL. Mike Warren guest appearance on the White Shadow reminds me he actually played basketball in college, I believe it was UCLA. So many went on to other shows; greater parts and awards. Thank You so much!!!!

3 Andrew G from Merseyside: Hill Street Blues was a large part of my High School childhood. A few memories always stuck in my mind, the pouring of Phil Esterhaus ashes in the epicentre of the Hill, Howard Hunter's constant accidental destruction of the stations windows and Mick Belker bursting out of a wall in the final ever episode. It's such a pity that the show isn't on any more, there are a lot of later season episodes I haven't seen in a long time. The show was funny, intellectual and for it's time groundbreaking in the use of a large cast and ongoing storylines. Your kind, my kind, human kind.
2 Peter Martin from Bangor, Northern Irleland: HSB was very formative for me in my early teens. I wanted to be Frank Furrillo..definately could have chosen a worse role model. Brillantly scripted and tackling real social and ethical issues. Whilst the 80's may have been false in every other way at least HSB is something out of our childhood we can be proud of. Favourite moment - whenever JD finally goes to alcohol anon and meets Frank at the meeting.
1 giulio robertson from brighton: Hill Street Blues,its one of the few TV shows that hits a nerve in me, it takes you through the up"s and downs of everyday life on the hill,frank is allways so cool, and i love joyce davenport "who doesn't" , it also gives you the feel of the 80"s ' seems like it was only yesterday, its one of my top ten shows of this lifetime, & its well worth staying up until 4 am & im looking forward to saturday 22nd, hill st blues day, what a great show.
