I once sent her a letter telling her how much I enjoyed her books. She wrote me back. I couldn't believe it. What a down to earth person. No other author will ever take her place

3 Patsy Norman from Northumberland: I have read Catherine Cookson books since I was 15.. The First I read was "The Fifteen Streets" and it was like reading about my Terrace House Life on Tyneside.....I bought all the books & video's and now I am starting on CD's and I live in the Village where A dinner of Herbs and The Girl were made.....I still visit Canny Tyneside and through Catherine's Story Telling...My Family Tree on Tyneside comes alive.....
2 Margaret McLarty from Canada: I have read and kept all of Catherine Cookson's books. I was so sad when she passed away. I could go on reading her works forever. I have even reread alot of her books. No one will be able to take her place.
1 Patsy McQuitty from California USA: I have been a fan of Catherine Cookson for many years, she's my favorite author ever. Was so sad when I heard she had died. I never really knrw how old she was but hoped she'd live longer than me so I could enjoy reading her books til I died. It really upsets me that she is gone' so sorry. Am currently getting some lists from the computer of all her books and I see there are several I've never read so hopefully I can get copies somewhere. Thank You Patsy McQuitty
