Classic Television News & Features: GONE: Tony Curtis

Tony Curtis (June 3, 1925 – September 29, 2010) was a much loved gentleman actor whose career spanned six decades, acting in over 60 films and later starring and guesting in many hit television shows. 1959's comedy Some Like It Hot was an instant classic and propelled him and co-stars Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon to stellar fame.

Curtis appeared frequently on television; notably he co-starred with Roger Moore in 24 episodes of 1971 adventure series The Persuaders! as American Danny Wilde. Alongside Roger Moore's Lord Brett Sinclair as a pair of wealthy playboys, they are teamed together to investigate crimes that the police can't solve.
